Reviews
As someone who has been a member since 2013 and travels to lifetime’s around the country, my review is overly generous. First the locker room is filthy. I am in town for work for two weeks. I have seen the same disgusting grime on the floors. I see calcium build up in the bathrooms stalls for the time i have attended. This tells me no cleaning is taking place. This lack of attention to detail and hygiene is a health risk. I have never seen a lifetime that runs out of towels on such a consistent basis. Frankly if I was the DM of this district, I would check how often the GM is here and how often he conducts inspections. These poor people in Mason do not know how great a lifetime can be. I would take pictures of the locker room but that would be against club policy. I will be conducting corporate for a credit for this month. Gross.
As a follow up, I saw the post from the club below. The bathrooms still have not been cleaned. Thankfully my last day in town. I almost drove 85 miles to Columbus, but saw the reply below. Just lip service.
Full of moronic teenagers with 0 gym etiquette who crowd and sit around on machines having conversations. Multiple people will disturb you mid-set. Probably the only Lifetime I’ve been to that has had kids go unchecked like this. Incredibly irritating for the other members. LA fitness was terrible but had better members than this.
After viewing all the negative reviews about the pool it looks like they’ve improved that area of the gym. The water quality is back to it's normal state but the waterslides aren't being used at this time. The hot tubs are very warm and have room for at least 10 people. This location is nicer than the one in Cleveland.
Bad experience for a kid's birthday party!!!
I am not a member at the gym but I was there for a kids birthday party this past weekend. I can tell you overall the place looked nice everything was laid out nice but the people were not trained well. Honestly I don't think this reflects badly on the people who are working there. I think this reflects very poorly on the facilities management. When you hire 18-20 year olds they need to be managed and there wasn't anyone in sight that came and managed them or checked up on them.
1) Upon arrival the pizza was already sitting there. I'm not sure how long it had been sitting there before arrival but we were there on time. I'm not sure if this is normal to just to leave food sitting there without warming it or anything for who knows how long. I would normally expect the pizza to arrive somewhere between 15 or 20 minutes after the party starts.
2) One girl was telling the kids to go play in the bounce house while the other girl was telling the kids to go eat pizza. My kids were upset and confused as was I.
3) When the cake was served the staff had seconds, before some of the guests even had a first helping. When the father of the birthday boy came over to get a second helping he asked the girl that was cutting the cake to give him a second helping. Her reply was I'm sure you know how to do it yourself as she was shoveling cake in her mouth. At one point the boy who was watching the bounce house left the kids unattended in the bounce house and it started collapsing as he was eating cake. I'm not sure if that was his second or third piece; it was hard to keep track.
4) The staff started putting the toys away 1 hour before the party ended. The staff took down the bounce house 45 min before the end of the party. At 2:25 The girl said to the group "just letting you know we close at 3:00" as she swept and threw everything away. The mother of the birthday boy said she paid till 3:00.
5) I overheard a conversation between the two girls saying the one girl sent the boy home early and that's why they needed to tear down the bouncy castle early.
The manager of lifetime did not wanted to help us because of our looks and we put it in hold in August and someone from lifetime reactivated our account and know they want us to pay $700 and $300 more for this month. And we asked for a …
Just No, I have been going to every lifetime in the state of Ohio and Arizona for years since 2019/2020, until the manager stops me on my way to a class to cancel my membership because they accused me of theft when I told him I clearly last …
I have been a member of this gym for several years, and I must say that I've noticed a significant decline in the overall quality of the facilities and services. While I understand that changes can happen over time, the recent deterioration has been quite concerning.
The pool water quality has become an issue, with a noticeable change in its color and the presence of debris that seems to linger for extended periods. It's disheartening to observe a lack of proper maintenance, as evidenced by the same band-aid floating in the pool for weeks. This neglect raises concerns about hygiene and safety, wouldn't be surprise if someone contract an amoeba infection from the pool.
Furthermore, the gym seems to have shifted its focus away from cleanliness and customer satisfaction. I recall a time when the gym was diligently cleaned, but unfortunately, that is no longer the case. This is especially troubling given the recent increase in membership fees from $69.99 to $129.99 per month. As a long-term member, it's disappointing to witness a decline in the gym's standards without a corresponding improvement in services.
The pricing adjustments have also affected the affordability of the shakes offered at the gym. What used to be a reasonably priced option at $5 has now been raised to $9.95. While I understand that costs can change, I hope the management considers maintaining a balance between providing quality products and keeping them accessible to all members.
I must also mention an incident I encountered in the locker room where a fellow member put their soaking sweat gym cloth in the swim suit water extractor. This not only reflects a lack of consideration for others but also raises concerns about the general hygiene practices within the facility.
I write this review with the intention of offering constructive criticism, as I genuinely believe that this gym has the potential to regain its previous high standards. A renewed focus on cleanliness, timely maintenance, and fair pricing adjustments would greatly improve the overall experience for all members. I hope my feedback is taken into consideration and that positive changes are made to restore the gym's reputation for excellence.
Also the gym used to be 24/7 now it's not. Pretty sad. I wouldn't recommend signing up this gym. I'm about to cancel it.
Facility is very nice.
Went back today(12/6/2023). Kudos to the woman at the front desk this afternoon. She was welcoming and pleasant.
Edit-1/6/2024:
Since my original review 4 weeks ago there has been a substantial effort to clean up the facility. It is much improved. I have increased my rating from 2 to 4 stars. Room for improvement but sanitary conditions are much better and use of the facility is much more enjoyable.
